On October 8, Light and Love Home held a Thanksgiving Party. Participants enjoyed not only an abundance of yummy food, but also musical performances and various game booths. There was also a series of experiential booths that let people get a taste of life in the third world countries, experiencing things like carrying big buckets of water, hand-washing clothes, living in conditions of extreme noise and air pollution, living in very tight quarters, etc. Many parents purposely brought their children to each of these booths. Paired with the sharing of the volunteers’ personal experiences in those places, these booths helped the younger generation to learn about life in poverty, leading them to be thankful of what they have. Moreover, such experience inspired them to have a passionate heart for those who are still living in poverty and suffering in different parts of the world.
