Summer Day Camp 2012

Registration Starts on 28th April

Date: July 3 to Aug 17

Time: 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. (Monday to Friday)

For: Grades 1 to 8

Fee: $450 for 7 weeks (includes transportation and admission fees)

$385 only if registered on or before June 2

Through activities, games, workshops, presentation, contest, fieldtrips and volunteering, children will learn math and English, to care for their families and others, and to contribute to the community

Extended Service Hours for 7 weeks

8:30 - 10:00a.m.: $80

3:00 - 5:30p.m.: $150

Fundraising Activities in March

BMO Run 2012

On March 17, over 1,000 people gathered at Stanley Park for a 5Km run organized by BMO. Among the crowd, 100 participants were running for Light and Love Home. Despite the cold weather, they were smiling and full of passion. We would like to thank all runners for their support. All proceeds go to our worldwide charity services. Special thanks to the organizer of the run who let us be part of the event. Thanks to Love Your Neighbour Club's full support.

Fundraising Dinner

On March 23, we held in our centre a special charity dinner. We played a video clip about the history and development of Light and Love Children’s Home in Madagascar. We also invited the president of the children’s home to share his precious experience. Other short- and long-term volunteers also talked about their gain. Beside the abundant dinner, we had an auction of photos of third world countries, which was the climax of the whole event. A large photo displayed in CCM, Burnaby was sold for a high price after quite a long bid!

Crystal Mall Performance

On March 24, Light and Love Home conducted a variety show in Crystal Mall, Burnaby. Different organizations came together to show their talent. We enjoyed little children’s dance, young women’s martial arts, instrumental and vocal performances, a wonderful drama, etc. Performers gained audience’s applause and praises, making the atmosphere even more joyful! We would like to express our gratitude to all performers’ support and participation to make this show successful.
